CaRant: Forums

Somethings are rant worthy, some aren't. Put a Ca in front and you get CaRant: a rant that is done by Calamansi. There are times when my opinions get too strong and manifest into complete essays, but words sometimes fail me and I'm left with a made up word to describe my feelings. Let's expand upon what really goes on when I calag or carage or even better, CaRant.




Awful. Just absolutely awful. In theory, it would be a great place to be, but in actuality, this is what it is: a place full of unintelligent wannabe trolls, inconsiderate, incoherent 19 year olds that act like their 10, moronic, egotistical maniacs who want to inflate their egos, idiotic 10 year olds that try to act as if they are older but in game they act like they're 5, a parlaveta of people who try to assimilate into the forum community but become the bashed, the overachievers or the scrutinized, GMs that don't do anything but say Help Desk, a team of players that claims they don't have power, yet they do that is supposed to represent the good in the community but only speak of the bad and treat others cruelly and a whole bunch of other shit heads. That's the forum.

Now tell me... HOW THE FUCK DID THE FORUM GET THIS AWFUL? If you don't have an answer, I'll give you one: the internet gives people an atmosphere in which they can truly act like a persona of themselves or how they truly are on the inside. That's basic Internet Psychology. What this tells us is that the people who traffic OUR forum are people who have these awful, idiotic, moronic, cruel personas or this is how they truly are. And I can see why.

The forums is something that is PERMANENT. Whatever you said on the forum cannot be deleted. It can be hidden and it can be locked, but it will never be deleted. If you still have the link to hidden threads (which MANY of the decrepit shit heads on the forum have), you can view what was said. If you google things, you will get "Printer" friendly pages of forum threads not even hidden. If your username is something you can search and archive, it is something permanent. Shouldn't that bother you that your mean spirited words or your inflated ego is for the entire community to view? Not just the entire community, prospective players, players from other gaming communities, ect ect. If you ever wonder why people have a misconception about you and you post frequently on the forum, this is probably why.

LaTale is advertised to be the most friendly MMO around, but all I see are mean spirited people who don't seem to know the definition of being humble, nice and caring. I understand that trolls are apart of forum life, but do you REALLY have to keep talking to them? Be mature and ignore people who annoy you. Like seriously. I do it all the time, why can't you? Are you really that into following your persona or your true identity that you'll be cruel to others? If this keeps up, then OGPlanet has to stop advertising the game as the most friendly. Yes, there are friendly people here, but there are friendly people everywhere. If you don't change now, then you'll have to suffer the consequences and those consequences may very much be the closing curtain on LaTale.

I know I'm digging deeper into the same topic, but let me get something straight. When you are being mean to someone on a regular basis and it upsets them, that is internet bullying and is punishable in the REAL WORLD. Just because you're a bigshot here on the forum doesn't mean you're at the mercy of the law you must abide when you turn off your computer. As the saying goes, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it at all. In other words, shut your face if all you're going to do is be an asshole.

I honestly only use the forums for my own interests and guild thread. I've done enough observing to see these true or imagined personas of the players I pass on a biweekly basis. All I am seeing is a two faced community that tries to act innocent, but the evidence is permanently there on that forum. Also, I did not say names in this rant. If you feel that this is directed at you, then stop it. This is a general comment that encompasses a large amount of people. Maybe you're apart of that population, but what is said is said for a reason.

But let's call it a day and wait for our next adventure.
