Master Musings: History

The musings of a guild leader are always full of drama. I wouldn't deny that my own musings aren't free of the dreaded drama bug, but we're all human. It's just that guild leaders are more exposed to those sort of things. What makes you different though, is your ability to come back from cloud nine to the people you love.

Every guild has history, it's just a matter of who remembers it. Sometimes it's marked by key events or seasons, but overall, the past results in the present and the future that is past the present. We must learn from it in the present order to make a brighter future. At least, that's how the saying goes.

Inflation history isn't too hard. I'm actually the one that remembers it the most vividly. With it's history, there's discrimination, people and drama, but that's to be expected. It's funny that when people ask me about who's been in the guild, I name people you would not expect to be in the guild at all, but they have been, for a certain amount of time. I won't name names, but, if you were to provide me with one, the chances are, they have been in the guild one way or another.

But our history isn't too glamorous other than the success. We started late August of 2010 and reached level 10 within one month. We leveled to level 12 in late January of 2011, January 22, 2011 to be exact, and assumed the rank 1 position for the first time. We dipped under in February, but came back strong to our current 50m+ total GP contribution. Since then, we've only retained so little of the people who first started with us, losing them to real life commitments such as school, work and family. I have no problem with it, it's just that I wonder how they're all doing and if life is giving them the better side of the meadow to leap through.

Like every guild though, we reach complications. Our history is divided into seasons with rifts of violent drama in between. There was the winter of 2010, summer of 2011 and winter of 2011, in which the rifts of drama occurred about spring of 2011 and fall of 2011. But history is continuous, it just keeps on going and going. I can tell you what we did last week, but would you really be interested in that or are you reading this to see what drama I'll spew out. Hmm? I'm looking at you right now.

Sure, I can put names here of the drama that occurred in the past, but subtly doing so just gives me more satisfaction. It's all over this blog, especially since this blog doctrines the history of my LaTale career, you just need to look harder. History can have the bad parts, but I like focusing on the good parts to people who can just bat an eye to the information and forget it the next.

What we can do is focus on what we did right and what we did wrong. We can be negative nancys and give you the benefit of the doubt that I actually care that the wrong doings YOU did affects me, but I don't work that way. I learn from experience and what you taught me is what will put me one step closer to my goal.

Now, average joe reading my blog, what about you? Never let the past bog you down for it will just be your vice, a vice that you might never recover from. Always look to the future and learn from what you did in the past. Admit that you faulted somewhere and move from there. Now, that's easy isn't it?

I can just go on about the history of my guild and how you can use history to make a brighter tomorrow, but I'd have to discuss the ramifications of guild drama and blah blah blah.

But let's save that for another day.
