So, on LaTale, I have hobbies (other than being lazy
). Some people may or may not think my hobbies are fun or exciting, but quite frankly most people think that my hobbies are stupid. Moronic. Idiotic. Idipid (insert inside joke). But I'm here to tell you what I do and why I enjoy them. Since LaTale sometimes seems really boring, I indulge in these to find new light in a game owned by a company that disappoints its client population, over and over again.I like farming Ballong Gems (and Shirena Soul Urns). Ballong Gems are the elusive level 129 Elemental Stone with 31% Magic Crit.
Only Shirenas in the Mermaid Room of Aquarium drop these epic little things. Their drop rate arranged in a set containing the Shirena Soul Urn, [Earth]Ballong Gem, [Water]Ballong Gem, [Wind]Ballong Gem and [Fire] Ballong Gem. The set's drop rate is 50/1,000,000 where a Shirena Soul Urn has a probability of 100/132 of dropping while each individual Ballong Gem has a probability of 8/132 of dropping. The odds are staggering, but then again, 1/1 person dies right? /endlaughteratownjoke
Well. When I first discovered them, I looked them up and I said to myself, "Hmm, I'm very bored and I have nothing to do. Why not?" So I invaded the Mermaid Room, killed some Shirenas and got 3 Ballong Gems. Granted, this was during the week without any IDR pot (let alone help from the 1 Day Iris Stone and 2 piece Gaia Set like I do now), so it was a surprise. Not really. I've always been pretty lucky when it comes to drops. During the LaTale anniversary, I got the cake hat within 2 boxes. During the Golden Needle/Blue Water Balloon event, I got loads and loads of Hell Stockings, Hell Earrings, Epic Set Coupons, Blacksmith Coupons and Holy Water Boxes. During the Treasure Explorer event, I got a Goose within 2 days. During the Green Thumb event, I got a total of 9 Tengus and that was within a week because I stopped doing the event because I was on my period. I think people call it dumb luck. Well, I'm not complaining. My "dumb luck" set aflame to one of my favorite hobbies.
My goal is to make a +9 [Water]Ballong Gem; however, I keep getting crappy durability on my Ballong Gems. If there was a way to control the durability of the items you get from drops, I'd be so happy. What I'm waiting for is for Ballong Gems to be craftable. When that will happen, I don't know. Since Shirena Soul Urns actually drop more often than an individual Ballong Gem, let alone just any one of them dropping (32/132), I'm hoping and maybe start to push for this to be implimented. In fact, there are multiple items that should have soul urns and recipes, mostly for the usage of getting blue named items enchanted. Things like Valhalla Crystals, Hell Stockings, things like that. But, back on topic. I did HD about them before... When I first started out doing this and got my first Shirena Soul Urn- actually, let me play it out for you.

Hello. I have questions about the Shirena Soul Urns. I have received some while I was farming for Ballong Gems and was wondering what they are used to make. On the description, it says it is to make a Shirena Bead, however such an item does not exist in the game. Does this mean the Shirena Bead is actually the Ballong Gem and if so, is it craftable or will be craftable in the future? Thank you.

Hello, Thank you for contacting our help desk. The Shirena Urn is indeed supposed to make the Ballong Gem and we have plans to introduce this crafting recipe some time in the future, though we cannot disclose when. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact our help desk.

. You know. Subtle suggesting. But let's continue. Ballong Gems. I use any x2 Item Drop Rate time I can to farm these babies. The sad part is that I oversleep a lot on the weekends. Oh well. Sometimes I meet new people and convert them into Ballong Gem fiends. Sometimes I meet real assholes that think they're being cool by trying to KS a minstrel that has anger issues and a trigger happy HD finger. Well, you aren't. Not when I'm getting all the drops.
When I get a stack of Shirena Soul Urns and a full inventory of Ballong Gems (or at least 40 because that's as much as you can see without scrolling down), I'll screenshot it and celebrate. It probably won't be for a very long while. Since I have school, real life things, guild things and other hobbies to do, this will be a goal that will keep me interested in LaTale, even though it's extended and probably unobtainable. But hey, I'm having fun and I'm pretty happy so let by gones be by gones and unleash the genocide of Shirenas!
