Maybe I can expect to have my life back again now that my private college applications are done. I probably won't be seeing around when AP Testing comes around, so I might as well enjoy it while I still have it in my hands. Inflation's busy, that's a shocker, and we're excited for this coming week. That's all I'm going to say though since I do retain my cryptic mood when I'm grumpy. Regardless, welcome everyone to the new year!
It's a new year and a new fresh start for some. The rest, not so much. It just feels like a continuation of a bad dream that keeps getting worse and worse, but there's always a few people that keep the balance of good and evil in that dream for you. Ah... I digress. LaTale starts its year off with two new events; the Daily Study event and the Dotnut spawn event.
If you haven't noticed, there are Dotnut mushrooms walking on every map. If you kill them, they may drop a type of mushroom.
Eight type of mushrooms can be collected: Sonic, God, Shining, Bio, Gold, Silver, Normal, and Rotten. The first four drop from the green Dotnut mushroom, Sonic Mushroom, and the latter four drop from the orange Dotnut mushroom, Normal Mushroom. In every map (except for Instances of course), 1 Sonic Mushroom and 2 Normal Mushroom spawn, so have fun farming! I'm not sure about the Xenadia maps since they are very large and I have eye balled some mushrooms while running through. You can receive 4 quests to trade the mushrooms you collect, two of which will give you titles.
Although not too special, title collectors should rejoice and rush to get these books before the event ends.
The next event we have is the Daily Study event. Every weekday, a different NPC will appear in Elias and you must complete tasks to receive a You've Done Well Gift Box. The official information can be found here.
On Monday, the NPC will ask you to collect certain items dropped from all monsters. These are Pre, Obj, and Sub cards.
When you trade in 1 of each, you will receive 1 You've Done Well Gift Box.
On Tuesday, you will receive a quest item in your Gift in your Bank. You can receive a quest from the NPC and choose an NPC to turn in the Scientific Report to. The reward doesn't change with who you turn in the item to (to my knowledge), so you can receive 5 You've Done Well Gift Box upon turning in the report.
On Wednesday, the NPC will ask you to collect certain items dropped from all monsters. These are 1, 2, 3, +, and - cards. You can exchange different combination of these cards to get a certain amount of You've Done Well Gift Boxes. For...
3 + 2, you receive 5 boxes.
3 + 1, you receive 4 boxes.
2 + 1, you receive 3 boxes.
3 - 1, you receive 2 boxes.
2 - 1, you receive 1 box.
3 - 2, you receive 1 box.
On Thursday, you will receive a quest item in your Gift in your bank. You will be asked 5 questions by the NPC by walking near it. If you fail it, you will receive a Failed Test. You can fail the quiz as many times as you want, you just need to drop the test and try again. When you finally succeed, you will be able to finish the quest and receive 5 You've Done Well Gift Boxes.
On Friday, you will receive a quest item in your Gift in your bank. You will have to run through a very long map and upon completion, you can receive 5 You've Done Well Gift Boxes.
So... What's the point of these boxes? Well you can get various items from them.
You might receive an Emote Guidebook, Small XP Potions, or Medium XP Potions. Most of the time, you'll get 30 minute Crystal Mine Tickets and Limited Pet Experience Gain Increase Nostrums 20%. Sometimes a Pet Experience Potion will come out.
But occasionally something magical will happen...
You may receive an item called the Goose of Golden Egg which may be turned in along with a level 5, 10, 15, or 20 Ugly Egg to receive an egg that has it's own list of rewards including, but not limited to, Masterhand Guidebook, Panda Pet, Minebot Pet, Penguin Pet and a variety of Emote Guidebooks.
This is Jugly, the Ugly Egg. He's still level 2 right now, but he'll get to 20 eventually... I hope...
Although there is much debate about the morality and destruction caused by this event, I'm just glad that we have an event. The small little things we can do together will bring us together, no matter how tiny they are.
Now... Let's get back to life. Finals are in a week or two and I'm exhausted from my volunteer service, so this month is a bit of a dead month for me. So very sorry, but when life gives you calamansis, you throw them at random people and say "RUN BITCH RUN." I hope everyone has a wonderful start of their second semester and a fruitful cram and study for finals! Everyone do well because when you do, you don't have to think about the mistakes you did.
