Somethings are rant worthy, some aren't. Put a Ca in front and you get CaRant: a rant that is done by Calamansi. There are times when my opinions get too strong and manifest into complete essays, but words sometimes fail me and I'm left with a made up word to describe my feelings. Let's expand upon what really goes on when I calag or carage or even better, CaRant.
Rankings (not Guild Rankings mind you) is something I find stupid due to my utter dislike for Colosseum. It might not be stupid for you, but to me, it's just awful.
I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate Colosseum with a burning passion greater than the intense inferno of one thousand exploding, burning suns. I just hate it. It's boring, uninspiring, stressful and not worth the time considering my gameplay style. For others, yes, it's a good way to make money and some people actually enjoy it, but for me, if Colosseum was a person (not a LaTale player named Colosseum), they would probably not be living and I'd have a crime scene. That's how much I hate it.
How does my hate for Colosseum translate into Rankings are stupid? Well, the main reason is that in order to even get on the top 10 Level Rankings, you need to do endless hours of Prime Experience Potion grinding in Expert Colosseum. Yes, LaTale is a game, but I'd rather do something that is fun in a game, not something that is a chore. If your goal is to be on the top 10 and you don't like Colosseum, then don't do it and pursue something that you find fun. Otherwise, you'd be grinding your way to quit.
But anyways, Rankings. To me it's stupid, to you it might not be stupid. But don't make it your life. If you're concerned over a number in a game over things in real life, you're wasting your precious life. It's okay if it's a goal, it's okay to be proud of it, but you shouldn't obsess over it so much that you lose all sight of your obligations in real life. It's not something you can hold in your hand like a trophy or a medal, it's something mental that can be hidden away in your mind.
If you're a high rank, good for you. But don't shove that down my throat. Have you ever heard of the saying about how religion is like a penis? It's okay to have it and it's okay to be proud about it, but please don't pull it out in public and wave it around and please don't shove it down the throats of my children. Vular as it is, the same thing can be said about religion and your rank in LaTale. It's supposed to be something special for you and you alone. If you go around saying, I'm rank blah blah blah, then people will know, people will try to dethrone you and people will percieve you as a braggy, cocky player that doesn't know their place, regardless of rank.
A rank does not make you God, and if it did, you would not exist in my religion. A rank is a goal for you and only you. Yes, it can influence people to like, respect and talk to you more, but overall, it's not a privilliage. A rank is an accomplishment and the attention you get is an acknowledgement of that accomplishment.
But, back to my opinion, a rank doesn't mean anything to me. You can be rank 1 and if you're a rude, braggy, cocky bastard, I would not like you. Judge by the content of one's character, not their accomplishments. Anyone can rise up to be a high rank with time and patience, but the ones that have pure hearts are the ones who strive.
I can go on and on about how things like Coli and TAID and ect are the most boring features in the game and forces our player base to take a one way path to quitting. Because that's what it does, it makes our gameplay on LaTale boring or quick so we can accomplish what we want to accomplish. When we run out of things to do, we quit.
But let's call it a night and wait for our next adventure.

Totally agree, coming from someone who used to care about Rankings... after subjos Maestros pretty much ruined the rankings ;(
