Somethings are rant worthy, some aren't. Put a Ca in front and you get CaRant: a rant that is done by Calamansi. There are times when my opinions get too strong and manifest into complete essays, but words sometimes fail me and I'm left with a made up word to describe my feelings. Let's expand upon what really goes on when I calag or carage or even better, CaRant.
I really really reallyyyy hate Server or Channel Microphone spam. It's very unnecessary and those who do it, you're know you're guilty of doing it. I'm just going to say this: shut the fuck up. Have your conversations locally, not over the channel or god forbid server. It's really annoying to see your stupid ass, incoherent shit in my chat. I did not add you onto my buddy list nor my guild, so I should be entitled to being able to see both chats along with localized all chats.
Advertisements, single shout outs, and things of those nature is the intended use of microphones. You know, things that might be useful or enhances your gameplay though opportunities to join guilds or parties, buy or sell items or make friends feel special. Microphones in that sense aren't annoying as fuck. But when people who have each other in the same buddy list, same guild or are just right beside each other, you don't have to waste Server or Channel Microphones to have your "hilarious" conversation. It's not hilarious. It just makes you look like an idiot that thinks they're big fucks.
I know I'm really cursing up a storm with this one, but I really do not accept it when I see Server or Channel Microphone spam. When I can't see a conversation with my guild members, it disrupts my gameplay and might as well be large scale harassment because other people on the channel or server can see their "hiliarous" incoherent conversations. I'm not the type of person that slaves all day entering and exiting instances, always emptying my chat and can't converse with people efficiently. I sit on my bench, hold parties for people, wait for my JohnJohn to come home and talk to people. My choice in gameplay shouldn't be criticized because it's my choice to do it, but when it gets disrupted, I have a right to be mad at you.
Other than "hilarious" conversations being spammed over the channel or server, there's also arguments, dramatic outbursts or straight slander. I also don't want to see this. Why should I care if you broke up with your girlfriend and she's a whore? Do I really need to see two people bickering over something insignificant too? And please, do you need to call someone that I don't know or particularly care about a self righteous bitch in censor avoidance vocabulary?
I do admit, drama elicits negative feelings, most commonly anger, envy, despair, and bigotry, but those negative feelings must be calmed before confronting the problem with a clear mind. In other words, when drama affects you, log off, find a healthy way to calm yourself down (i.e. meditation, warm bath, favorite snack, nap, things to get your blood pressure and adrenaline down), come back and solve your problem. Drama only occurs when we focus on the negative and only use the negative, but when you take out the negative in both parties, you just have a problem. Problems can be fixed. Drama can't. But will funneling those negative emotions into Channel and Server Microphones really make the situation better? You might feel better initially, but every negative action have it's own worst negative consequence.
My point is that your life is your own and my life is my own. Your gameplay is your own and my gameplay is my own. But when you make the choice to spam the channel or server with your needless spam, you're making the choice to impede the gameplay of the people around you. To put it against an example, when you make the choice to drink and drive, you're making the choice to potentially harm the people around you.
So be considerate and think before you act. Sometimes we get overwhelmed by our emotions, positive or negative, but you need to open your eyes before you get too far into the tunnel.
But let's call it a night and wait for our next adventure.
