Say hello to CrispyPata. She's a Guardian soon to be Saint soon to be Psykicker. If you haven't already heard from me, I am not excited for Maestro due to the fact that it's mostly a Colihoar and if you know me well, I hate Coli to death. SO, the next best thing was choose another class, make an alt and level it. Thus, CrispyPata was conceived and born!
Isn't she so adorable? I started her in "secret" from the public midsummer, during the Green Thumb event. Since I had a truck load of spa tickets from the seeds, I decided to use them to create my ideal Subclass character. I watched some videos provided from guild members and was really attracted to Psykicker and Terror Knight. Why? Well... The only real character I've had is CaIamansi, a Minstrel. I wanted something that had higher dps and was also fun to play. Warlord and Blader was out because the warrior class bore me a little and I'm not too much of a damage whore, especially Blader because I'm prone to fps lag. My ping is fine, but my laptop is not. I already have a level 9x Sorcerer waiting in the wings, waiting for me to pick her back up when I feel like it. I probably won't be doing that for some time until I see how Phantom Mage will be like. The wings are alright, the scythes are alright, but the whole class just... confuses me.

Treasure Hunter and Gunslinger? Well... Yes and no. Treasure Hunter seems fun, but I already have one. A crop mule. Besides, what would I use it for other than farming? I don't Coli nor do I boss farm. I am not fond of boss farming (especially Vintor). It sometimes makes me pissed off just thinking about it (especially Vintor). Bosses sometimes stress me out to the point where I want to shove nukes up the anuses of puppies and detonate them (especially Vintor). And, what can you do with a Gunslinger (other than saying BECAUSE GS)? Judgement seems my cup of tea, but it's the type of tea that you would rather not make because it takes too much work, time, patience and a lot of discrimination in grind parties.
So, that just left Temple Knight and Guardian. I was tempted in making a Terror Knight because I already had a Guardian, just a really crappy one that I didn't like using because I didn't know how to use her. So I made a Knight, no big deal. I would just try it out and see which I liked more. Pata was a sword knight, as apposed to my fondness to mace knights. So, I leveled in spa, did quests, soloed grind with noob experience pots and eventually got to level 70ish. By then, sword knight really rubbed off on me. I was pretty fond of it, even though mace is still better and sexier, but I wanted to try the knuckle skills just in case. So I did and failed, but I thought, HMM that was still pretty fun, even though I failed miserably. So I decided. Guardian it was. That and Terror Knight was a bit too slow for my ideal dps range. Temple Knight was a bit faster than Terror Knight, so I was afraid I would just stay a Temple Knight and not enjoy Terror Knight. But enough of my babbling.
At level 80, I ran to Atlantis, jumped over jellyfishes and seahorses named after something we use for memory and learning in our brain and made my way to the 2nd Class Change Center. Whee! At the end of the drop, I confidently selected Guardian (and realized I chose Temple Knight instead jkjkjk) and- Volia!
CrispyPata is a sexy Guardian.
Ah, I love Guardian! I'm enjoying it very much. At first, it was hard to get used to the combos, but I started to learn and it became more simple with more practice. The fact that all the skills can be comboed helps a great deal. For now, I'll just do whatever before reading a pro guide about Guardian combos or ask the legendary Mukashi for pro advice. Mocca's so funneh
Pata will have giant red hands, I mean Red Gulliver Hands until level 110. Why level 110? (BECAUSE GS) Because I'm investing in Starfish Knuckles. Well, I already have them, but I'm also investing in Starfish Soul Urns.
You know, farming for soul urns is very fun. I'm starting to get very addicted to it. Providing party for guild members without fail, talking casually without the strain of party members yelling at you to stfu, going at your own pace because you're a low dps class that has the magical ability to afk for 10 seconds, not wasting potions because you're an Elemental Flow build. It's great. I have natural luck too. I just kill for maybe 20 minutes and a soul urn will drop. MAGICAL. Of course, I'll have my off days, but who doesn't? It's all about just being happy with what you got, the fun you had in that time and thoughts of the next time you'll be doing it. Yay for psychological reinforcement!
Even though she's so "young," I'm already thinking about her 5th tier skill. I already completed 5 scrolls to Step 10 (that Shirenas kindly dropped for me and giving me a heart attack, thinking that they were Ballong Gems or Soul Urns), one of which I completed. I'm just biding my time at the moment. When I get the time, I'll drag JohnGee with me to do some Phoenix runs and maybe get Valhalla Soul Urns to participate in a certain event, but you know. I'm lazy and I admit it. Some people have advised me to not do them because it's a waste anyways because you get 5 SS5 Coins when you advance to 3rd Job; however, that is only true if you plan to leech from Inter Coli and have loads of support for 3rd Job Quests (and most of your quests are not solo based like them Sorcerers). I don't plan on doing Coli. I hate it. I don't know how many times I've said that. I'll be hanging around octopussies and pussies at Webfoot Octopus Temple, questing and grinding on the side. Quests are after all one of my forte. I remember in a certain game that totally doesn't start with a type of tree that makes fabled pancake syrup in Canada, I dragged John around, completing quest after quest after quest to get this title for "quest masters." I did get it, but a day later there was better titles released. And they were easier to get.
Yeah...
Moving on, I don't know if I will make Pata completely funded. She is after all just a character for enjoyment. I'm not sure what Psykicker strengths are in terms of what to do. Don't even say Coli because I will rant. They do have a dash skill that propels them forward or backwards. Maybe it'll be useful for bossing. Will it actually make me attracted bosses that I hate so much that I want to shove nukes up the anuses of puppies and detonate them (especially Vintor)? Probably not, but I'll leave the possibility open. Crop hop is out by default. Maybe it'll be useful for soul urn farming and Mermaid Room genocide. Once Subclasses hit our shores, Ballong Gems are projected to be of worth and people will try to take advantage of this by hogging Mermaid Room channels. I have a hard time on my Minstrel to keep people like Treasure Hunters, Bladers, even Sorcerers off my maps. It'll be time for revenge...
I'll keep you guys posted on CrispyPata's progress from nooblet to Saintness. At least then I'll have another 3rd Job quest sequence to do. Until then, always wait until your crispy pata is golden brown and always dip it into a soysauce-vinegar dip. Maybe a little Sauerkraut or pickled veggies as a palate cleanser and calamansi in your dip.
